2nd Annual Vietnam Veterans Mmemorial highway of valor tribute Ride
Event Details: 2nd Annual Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway of Valor Tribute Ride On Saturday July, 17, 2010 2nd Annual Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway of Valor Tribute Ride. NY State Route 38 is now designated as Vietnam Veterans Memorial Highway of Valor. Join us on this ride to draw attention to the new name of the highway and to honor all the many Vietnam Veterans in the state of New York. This 98 mile road, cuts through the middle of the state, from the Pennsylvania border to shores of Lake Ontario. Also there are two Medal of Honor recipients from the Vietnam War, who had lived along Route 38; Lieutenant Terrance Graves, a Marine killed in the line of duty, and also Army Sp4 Robert Stryker, who was also killed in the line of duty. The ride will begin at 10am on Saturday July 17, 2010 at Marvin Park, on Main Street, Owego, NY. The 98 mile ride will precede north on Route 38, with a planned stop in the village of Groton, to honor Terrance Graves, also for gas and lunch.. The ride will depart Groton promptly at 1pm preceding north again on Route 38 and ending at Cayuga Street Park in the Village of Fair Haven, where there will be food and entertainment. The ride is open to the public- Bikes, cars, trucks, Military vehicles and helicopters are welcome. Please register between 8 & 9:45am the day of the ride. There is no cost for the ride and ride is sponsored by Vietnam Veterans of America Chapters #377, 480,& 704, also by Blue Knights Chapter 17.
